For that reason, my Friday afternoon started like this... cuddling with two of my babes.
I could have easily gone to bed at 7:30 and been perfectly content, but I made myself stick it out to a more reasonable hour... like oh, 9:00. But let me tell you, 13 hours of sleep can do a body good!
Saturday was about playing and FOOD... what more do you need in life?
I cleaned up the cat and dog toys and put them in their designated bin. Shelby thought it would be appropriate to then drag the toys out and plop down right in the middle of them. Note all the toys that we have bought her in there... and see what is in her mouth? A stick! A simple, free stick!
She found it in my parent's yard when we took her home for Christmas and she has been in love ever since. Oh so simple!
Now on to the food...
After running a few errands, we decided we needed some ice cream.Yes, needed.
Don't you need peanut butter fudge ice cream, too?
To compensate for that deliciousness, we made up for it with a veggie filled dinner!
I attempted my hand at my Dad's famous ham-bone soup...And I believe it was a success! Yum!
Speaking of food, I sat down and planned out our meals for the week. First on the agenda was to do a "freezer inventory"... with our normal freezer and a chest freezer, we often lose track of what all we have in there! I really should do an inventory about once a week... it is amazing what all I found! I'll spare you the details, but basically we don't have to go to the grocery store this week! Talk about awesome!
Last week, we stuck with the meal plan for the most part. We ate all the meals I planned, but the days changed. So from now on, I'm going to make a general list of what we plan to eat, because life happens and things change! So, here we go for this week...
Ham bone Soup Leftovers
Spaghetti, meatballs and homemade noodlesCrockpot beer chicken, potatoes, steamed veggies
Breakfast for dinner! Stuffed shells and salad
Tyson chicken fingers and veggie steamersChicken pot pie
And for all of that, all I have to buy is BBQ Sauce for the Crockpot beer chicken, salad fixin's and pie crust for the chicken pot pie. Not too bad for a weeks worth of meals!
Ok, that has to be the most random post ever!
Happy Monday, y'all!
